The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R is an ultra-high performance summer track and competition tyre designed for supercars and sports cars. This is not a conventional tyre but rather a streetable track and competition tyre optimized exclusively for dry conditions. The tyre features a high-traction tread compound derived from Michelin motorsports racing slicks, with an asymmetric tread pattern and reduced void areas to maximize grip. It includes Track Variable Contact Patch 3.0 technology that increases the contact patch by 10 percent compared to the original Cup 2, with a massive outboard shoulder and narrower circumferential grooves creating wider tread ribs. Excellent dry performance and precise steering response are hallmarks of this tyre, though it is not recommended for wet conditions due to high hydroplaning risk. The Pilot Sport Cup 2 R is fitted as original equipment on exclusive hypersport vehicles including Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG, Koenigsegg and Corvette.
